Meet Besa Tafari - model and musician. Besa is one of a kind - magnetic, charismatic, bold, and a warm soul.
Besa started modeling when she was just 15 years old. Originally from Sweden, she was scouted on the streets of Copenhagen, and later moved overseas to New York to try her luck. She was successful and signed with a number of agencies that would help launch her career.
She describes the experience as lonely - “it was depressing, but it made me grow. You get to connect with other models who are experiencing the same feelings. I don’t regret any of it and I am still signed today and enjoy modeling. What kept me alive was my spirituality - and looking for cute dogs in the street.”
With her vast experience in the modeling industry, she is now also an avid scouter and has fostered several talents in the industry.
While modeling was where she started, music is her real passion. She’s been doing music since she was young and is now signed with a record label - “I want to be known for my music - that is where my soul thrives”.
Besa makes new style RnB but rooted in a 90’s style version of the genre - “I’m from the 90’s, so it just connects with my heart and feels right”.
Even though she has been doing music in all shapes and forms since she was a child, doing it professionally was daunting; “I had to believe in myself. My confidence in front of the camera is one thing, but doing music made me have to do some real work to find a deeper and different sense of confidence. Even if it is a different confidence, modeling definitely helped me find it and nurtured it”.
Besas past have dealt her some challenging cards that definitely took a toll on her wellbeing. “We don’t know how strong we are, until we have to be. But it’s also complex, because I don’t think I’m strong, but I survived”.
Experiencing hardship from a young age has opened her eyes to people’s different situations: “You are different, it’s like you are not scared of the dark anymore. The way you look at people change. You are more forgiving, more patient. We are all here to learn””.
Besa is anything but ordinary and her creative drive, spirituality and passion is inspiring to witness.

Describe yourself in 5 words:
Firstly, creative with no limits! But in 5 words I’d say, kind, eccentric, spiritual, emotional and smart. Mostly just creative with no limits.
How would you describe your style?
I mix up my personal style. I don’t like to follow trends. To me personal style is when you’re content with yourself, so you know who you are and how to dress to represent yourself.
What is jewellery to you and how do you use it to express yourself?
You know, back in the day they used gold and silver to enhance themselves. Like a kind of make up, and I even feel that now. If you go without make-up, but wear your jewellery it just elevates you and adds a little something extra. I also feel like it extends my feminine energy in a way. On days when I wear my hair up, but I wear my big earrings - you kind of feel like a goddess.
